Town Granary (first) is built.

1714

It is located on Boston Common at the site of today’s Park Street Station. The facility is used to store grain in times of plenty and to sell it to the poor at below-market prices during times of shortage. It is replaced by a new building (second) in 1729.* A replacement (third) is built at on the site of today’s Park Street Church in 1737.* The building is moved to Dorchester and turned into a hotel and tavern in 1809.*
